In November of 2020, a committee was formed to review and evaluate the affordable housing shortage in Nova Scotia. They are dedicated to finding solutions because they want everyone to feel safe in their rental property. They want people to afford the place they are in and not struggle. They are interested in feedback from the public in this province so they can identify the best steps to take toward a viable solution.

The committee doesn’t want a quick fix, they are looking at solutions that last for the long haul. This includes ways to increase the number of available rentals for people at an affordable price. The committee is asking for help with a short survey that takes about 10 minutes to complete. This information will help them target the challenges of stakeholders and gives them awareness of barriers that are preventing successful affordable housing options from moving forward.

The results of the survey will be publicly shared. Anyone interested in completing the survey is encouraged to do so, it isn’t required but appreciated. The information is anonymously reported and confidential – nobody will know what your individual responses on the survey were, just the collective outcome of the results. We hope you will take a few minutes to complete the survey and help us all find ways to offer affordable housing in Nova Scotia.
